Pets in Balance strives to provide compassionate veterinary care that will improve patient comfort, mobility, overall health and well-being. We know that your pet is an integral part of your family and we are dedicated to strengthening that bond. Pets in Balance integrates traditional veterinary medicine with complementary treatments including acupuncture, chiropractic (veterinary spinal manipulative therapy), and physical rehabilitation to treat dogs and cats with a variety of medical and mobility issues.
Whether your pet prefers the comforts of home, is recovering from surgery, stays active by going to the dog park, chases balls or a frisbee, is your running buddy, a therapy dog, or is a participant in canine sports and events such as agility, obedience, conformation, tracking or hunting, Pets in Balance wants to improve their function and performance.
Pets in Balance offers house calls in addition to in-office veterinary services out of a veterinary clinic in the northwest Chicago area. Services include acupuncture, chiropractic care, and physical rehabilitation evaluation and treatments. Evaluations allow us to determine what is making your pet painful or limiting their mobility. Treatments include but are not limited to therapeutic laser, exercises to improve strength and function, massage, passive range of motion, electrical stimulation, and pulsed electromagnetic therapy. We also offer supplements, herbals, and homeopathics in addition to assistive devices to help improve patient mobility and comfort. Dr. Starr has specialized training in providing orthotics and prosthetics for pets and is a partner with Orthopets. Providing in-home service allows us to address unique challenges owners have with patient mobility and travel when their pet is ailing, injured, anxious, or geriatric and improves convenience.
